Heal the Bay Fundraiser
Heal the Bay celebrated the ultimate beach party at our annual Bring Back the Beach gala benefit on May 19, 2011 at The Jonathan Beach Club in Santa Monica. Legendary Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson, one of the most influential composers and performers in rock and roll history, played a full-length set of hits. Big-wave surfer Laird Hamilton and his wife Gabrielle Reece, the beach volleyball star and model, made a special appearance.
Also recognized was the eco-accomplishments of this year's three honorees: the California State Coastal Conservancy, TV and live-event production company Homerun Entertainment, and Don Smith, the former president of environmental engineering firm MWH Americas. Donators got to meet and mix with leaders from Southern California's environmental, political, business and entertainment communities. It was a fun-filled evening under the stars that celebrated the honorees and supporters of the mission of Heal the Bay.
